George has a bachelor’s degree in optometry from Johannesburg University (SA) and City University London and is a specialist registered independent prescribing optometrist with the General Optical Council (GOC). As a specialist it allows him to prescribe and issue medical prescriptions for both NHS and private patients for the treatment of any eye condition. George is a member of the college of optometrists (COO) and of the Association of Optometrists (AOP).

George has 28yrs experience in the profession working in hospitals, co-management of cataract and refractive surgery, Philopena Community Eyecare Training and specialist NHS eye clinics. George has obtained nationally recognised diploma in ocular therapeutics DipTp(IP) from the college of optometrists.

George is also one of our providers of the emergency Acute Primary Care Ophthalmology Service (APCOS) looking after patients from GP surgeries across Kent & Medway ICB, diagnosing, prescribing, and treating conditions such as red eye, uveitis, foreign bodies and corneal ulcers.
